The job market has changed beyond all recognition over the last 5 years and LinkedIn has become a major tool in the majority of job seekers success but you need to be FULLY COMMITTED!
To be fully committed with your job search means having a fit for purpose and active LinkedIn profile. The reality is if you don’t, then you’re missing out.
LinkedIn brings up a mixed response when I talk to my clients from
👉🏽 Confusion – as don’t understand how it can help
👉🏻 Dread – Feeling inadequate if you’ve had a big career gap
👉🏿 Overwhelm – not knowing where to start.
LinkedIn is a MUST for any one looking for work and here’s 7 reasons why..
- The number of remote jobs advertised on LinkedIn increased 2.5x from Mar 20 – Oct 20.
- There are over 65 million decision makers on LinkedIn
- Three people are hired every minute through LinkedIn
- Over 57m+ companies are registered on there
- You are 7x more likely to be found if you have a profile picture
- A fully completed profile is 21x more likely to get you viewed and 36x more messages
- 95% of recruiters use LinkedIn regularly
I set up my LinkedIn account in roughly 2007 and then did absolutely nothing with it. I found it pretty uptight and not my cup of tea at all.
A couple of maternity leaves later and leaving my corporate life led me back to LinkedIn in 2017 – still found it stuffy and corporate but felt it was a necessity in the business world.
However, the good news is that LinkedIn has changed so much in the last five years and has become a supportive and friendly platform full of opportunities, where people genuinely want to help each other.
It helps so many people connect to the right type of employers and I think empowers the user to connect with people and forge genuine connections and relationships. What I really love about it is that you can really convey who you are with your profile and help any potential employer / collaborator really gain an insight to who you are and what matters to you.
So are you fully in or not?
